What you’ll do

You’ll work with the Registered Dietitian to ensure that quality nutritional services are provided to residents daily. You’ll listen and respond to the needs of residents and team members while reviewing the dietary requirements for each resident admitted to the facility. We’ll also look to you to assist the attending physician in planning for the resident’s prescribed Plan of Care. You’ll make sure that special diets are followed, and the resident’s meals are being served in the appropriate portions.

 

What it takes

  • Associate degree of Applied Science in Dietetic Technology from a school accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) required
  • Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) designation from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) required
  • ServeSafe certification required or willing to obtain within a reasonable timeframe
  • Two years experience as a dietetic technician in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related healthcare environment preferred
  • Proficiency with diet management software
